1769 King James Bible

Besides the 1611, still believed to be one of the most accurate translations of the Hebrew and Greek texts that exist today. Purists who want the least amount of human error involved in their search for God's truth insist on versions prior to the 1800's.
Comes with a newer version of the FileSearcher which is an ideal application for use with such a large text as the bible. In this package it has been renamed as "BibleSearcher" and has been upgraded (as has the FileSearcher).
Originally, I downloaded this version which was purported to be the original 1611 King James translation of the bible. Evidently this is NOT the original 1611 version, but rather the 1769 translation, which by most standards is probably the closest to the 1611 while still being "reader friendly" (since 1611 is written in "ye olde English"). Though I haven't read the results of comparisons being done between the 1769 and the 1611, I understand that the text maintains most of its integrity up to the 1800's. To date, I know of no 1611 that is free for download, only for sale. This version, the 1769, is probably the closest version to the 1611 that you will find for free.
